David Wheeler and Friends

Description:

David Wheeler has a long musical history with Good Sam UMC.  He is an outstanding oboe and english horn player and a very good bass guitarist.  He holds his own with recorder, penny whistle, and accordion.  And, he dabbles in a dozen other instruments.

David is currently playing oboe for the US Army, stationed near Heidelberg Germany.   He only makes it back to Cupertino every couple of years, and we treasure those visits.

While this was recorded in the studio, it has a very live, interactive feel.  And the best part -- there is no accordion.

My favorite track is "Aubrey".  I was playing back a rough mix in the studio when David picked up his instrument and started playing along with the recording.  I hit the record button without telling him.  What you hear is spontaneous harmonization at it's finest.
